Henry Ford once said that coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, working together is success. Despite the passing of time, his idea of a well-functioning team still holds very true, especially for us. In order to implement our vision of providing a bespoke service in making healthy ingredients and great food accessible to everybody in the world, we constantly rely on a close collaboration among all our personnel. This is why we created a friendly work environment where successes are always shared.
With us since March 2008, Elisabetta Doria Lamba has witnessed many of them. Her degree in Molecular Biology first took her to the Genetics Laboratory of one of the major hospital hospital in Genoa where she worked for a few years; then, her passion for food made her take a turn in her career and join our team as one of our Export Managers. Fluent both in English and French – languages that she learned while living abroad – Elisabetta has great communication skills that allow her to easily transfer her passion for Italian food to the clients she assists. Always busy developing new projects that promote the made-in-Italy excellences abroad, Elisabetta never misses to find the time to support her colleagues in the back-office.
“If you want, you can!” is her motto and she literally sticks to it. Being in charge of the portfolio of our clients in Japan means that Elisabetta starts her working days early to compensate for the time difference: for this reason, her mornings are typically dedicated to talking to them on the phone, discussing orders, taking requests and updating them on all our new products. In the afternoons she is usually busy working alongside our suppliers and her colleagues in the Commercial Department, always trying to develop new, shared strategies that could improve both the pre- and the after-sale experience of our customers. A great connoisseur of wines, she is very much looking forward to expand the Italian wine knowledge abroad.
According to a famous quote by Simon Sinek “customers will never love a company until the employees love it first”. In our case, since the vast majority of our activities is based on good human relationships managed with professionalism, our personnel are the soul of our business and their attitudes translate into all the products and services we offer. This is why in Alifood we constantly work on improving our workplace and our internal procedures in order to create an environment that maximizes their retention rate.
Chiara Campanella has been part of our team since 2013 but she has known us – and we, her – for a long time because she used to work in the export office of one of our suppliers. Her university degree in Foreign Languages and Literature provided her with strong skills in English, French and German which Chiara speaks fluently; this ability, together with her significant background in food export, made her succeed in joining our company as one of our Export Managers. Extremely dynamic and with a proactive attitude, Chiara is in charge of managing the portfolio of our clients in the Middle East, Far East and part of South America. A great team player and a true food lover, Chiara is always up-to-date with the latest trends in the market which she gladly shares with her colleagues in all our departments.
“Always ready for new challenges” is her motto: when we could travel freely, this brought her all over Italy, scouting for new products to offer to our clients whom she also visited on a regular basis. Now that the pandemic is forcing us to limit our actions within the office space, she spends most of her time keeping in touch with the clients she looks after: she is always online or on the telephone answering their pre- and after-sales requests and – most of all – listening to their needs in order to always provide them with the best, personalized solutions. Meticulous and very well organized, Chiara is an important asset to us also in times of fairs and tradeshows. The empathy she brings into her daily work routine comes from one of her greatest passions which is travelling and discovering new cultures; the other one is experimenting in her kitchen all the recipes that she takes back home from her trips.
When we founded Alifood, back in 1997, we had this grand vision of setting up an export company of Italian food excellences that could manage the entire production and distribution process, “from field to fork”. Our strive for perfection soon led us to realize that a great vision would have been irrelevant without great products and great people: this is why, after so many years, we still carefully select all the producers we work with and we pay the same attention in selecting our food-enthusiast personnel.
Giulia Nuzzo has been with us for almost two years now. With a significant background in logistics, she was first hired to cover a maternity leave in our Logistics Department; when that temporary assignment came to an end, we decided to offer her a new position as part of the team in our commercial back office. Proactive and with a very flexible approach to her daily routine at work, Giulia is in charge of commercial offers and orders. She combines her perfectionism with a commendable level of empathy that allows her to offer the best solutions to our clients by approaching each one of them in a personalized way. Giulia speaks Italian, English and a little French; in her spare time she is currently attending a language school in order to improve this ability of hers.
“Do unto others as you would have others do unto you” is her golden rule and this makes her a strong team player, constantly supporting her front office colleagues with new, innovative solutions. Always meeting the deadlines, Giulia usually starts her working day by checking e-mails and internal notes in order to understand priorities and urgencies: her mornings are mainly dedicated to set her daily tasks so as to help her colleagues in streamlining their activities, then in the afternoon she is usually busy preparing all the necessary paperwork for the commercial department. Traditional Italian food is one of her two greatest passions; the other one is music, from which she takes that positive, regenerating energy she needs to face every day with a smile.
Steve Jobs used to say that great things in business are never done by one person, they are done by a team of people: this is why at Alifood we always select our personnel with the utmost care in order to guarantee the high-standard services that we have been providing to our clients since 1997. Being a word-leading trading company that markets Italian products also entails creating a team of international professionals who have both the expertise to understand the needs of different clients all over the word and the passion for the high-quality food produced in our country.
Our Export Manager, Nataliya Korneeva, perfectly fits this profile. Born and raised in Moscow, Nataliya moved to Italy ten years ago. An enthusiastic food lover since she was a child, Nataliya studied at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo (Italy) where she graduated in 2018. She has been with us ever since. As our Export Manager, Nataliya is in charge of dealing with a large number of clients worldwide and her personalized approach – she speaks four languages – is very much appreciated by them all. One of her main tasks is to assist them in developing new projects which aim at promoting high-quality Italian food abroad. Very committed to her job, Nataliya always strives for perfection, combining precision of execution with timely responses and a proactive behaviour.
Being a great believer in Forrest Gump’s motto according to which “life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you’re gonna get”, Nataliya makes of versatility one of her main strengths: she typically starts her working day early, dealing with urgent matters in the morning then she dedicates her afternoons to the development of new, creative projects which she really enjoys. Promoting Italian food excellences is one of her two greatest passions; the other one is travelling, because it allows her to discover new cultures and have a more structured vision of new, potential markets.
